The Employment Channel (TEC) Meets The Venture Capital Community

New York, NY (September 2002)-
The Employment Channel was one of 14 selected participants out of 300 submissions at the recent National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week conference in Washington, DC. The conference was sponsored by US Dept. of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) in coordination with the Small Business Administration.

Emerging Venture Network, an agency that prepares minority businesses for institutional funding also participated in the conference and hosted one of its many entrepreneur boot camps at the conference. Says James Moore, EVN's Executive Director, "this is our first collaboration with the Minority Business Development Agency" (MBDA).

"The conference was a major success" says Broderick Byers CEO to TEC. "It was a great opportunity to meet VCs that we would not otherwise get to meet. MBDA and EVN did an excellent job of connecting qualified businesses to funding sources. And at the end of the day, it is all about access to capital. We met several interested investors at MED Week and truly believe that funding will be realized from this experience".
