"Thirteen million Americans have been convicted of felonies and spent time in prison -- more than the population of Greece. And they tend to return to prison again and again. Of the 650,000 inmates who will be released in 2004, two-thirds will be back behind bars within few years. " NY Times - June 26, 2004
The Employment and Career Channel (TECC) will use the power of television to help reduce recidivism in the nation's Dept. of Corrections. As an extension to our core business of producing, aggregating and distributing employment and career development content, TECC will create an in-prison closed-circuit television network a weekly community television series and a companion website for the education, preparation, and motivation of inmates, parolees, ex-offenders and their families. We call this initiative 2ndchancetv.com The multimedia network will consist of Second Chance TV (in prison), Second Chance TV-II (outside of prison), and www.2ndchancetv.com, the website.
